Artemus W. Ham IV.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCES
Art is a devoted trial lawyer who was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a fourth-generation Nevadan and third-generation lawyer, he comes from a family deeply rooted in the Las Vegas community. The Ham family has significantly contributed to the city's growth and has received recognition for their philanthropic efforts throughout Nevada.
Art graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas before pursuing a degree in political science at Santa Clara University, where he also minored in communications. He earned his law degree from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1999. After passing the Nevada bar exam that same year, he interned with the District Attorney’s office in Las Vegas and subsequently served as a law clerk for Judge Michael A. Cherry, who is now a retired Justice on the Nevada Supreme Court.
Following his clerkship, Art joined the esteemed local law firm Harrison, Kemp & Jones, where he gained valuable experience in various areas of law, including multi-district litigation, mass tort cases, commercial disputes, and real estate issues. He later became a partner at the Cobeaga Tomlinson law firm before establishing his own practice. After a successful period as a solo practitioner, Art joined Eglet Adams, a large law firm in Las Vegas. After 15 years, he left the big firm and collaborated with his longtime friend and law partner, Robert Adams, to form Adams & Ham Trial Lawyers.
At Adams & Ham Trial Lawyers, Art effectively merges the resources of a big law firm with the personalized attention of a smaller practice. His work in Las Vegas ensures that an “Artemus Ham” has been practicing law and an active member of the State Bar of Nevada each decade for the past century.
Art is always well-prepared, possessing a deep understanding of complex legal principles and expertise in various areas of law, including product liability, mass torts, class actions, and airplane crash litigation. His thorough preparation, extensive knowledge, and practical experience enable him to anticipate the legal challenges that arise in every case and complex litigation, ultimately allowing him to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients.
Throughout his career, Art has earned the respect of his peers in the legal community. His colleagues recognize him for his integrity, professionalism, and dedication to his clients. This respect is reflected in his active participation in professional organizations and legal associations, where he often shares insights and best practices with fellow attorneys. Art’s reputation as a skilled advocate and a reliable resource for legal expertise cements his standing as a respected leader within Nevada’s legal landscape.
Art is not only a skilled trial lawyer but also a committed member of the Las Vegas community. His extensive experience, strategic approach to his cases, and dedication to service, combined with the respect he commands among his peers, make him a prominent figure in the legal landscape of Nevada, continuing a legacy that has positively impacted countless lives through the years.
